New Registration Qualifications for Strata

The Property Stock and Business Agents Act (2002) was ammended in 2009 to introduce new educational requirements for registration as a Strata Managing Agent.

Licensed Strata Managing Agents

Qualifications for a Strata Managing Agent's license are successful completion of CPP40609 Certificate IV in Property Services (Operations). The course contains the following units of competency:

CPPDSM406A	Establish and manage agency trust accounts
CPPDSM4034A	Assess and implement strata/community management agreement
CPPDSM4045A	Facilitate meetings in the property industry
CPPDSM4056A	Manage conflicts and disputes in the property industry
CPPDSM4074A	Select and appoint contractors in the property industry
And successful completion of the following three units from Certificate III Property Services (Operations)

CPPDSM3017A	Communicate with clients as part of agency operations
CPPDSM3016A	Work in the property industry

Applications for a licence for people who have completed NSW 9674 Certificate IV in Property (Strata Management) will be accepted up to 2011.

Qualifications for Registration as a Strata Manager or Community Manager

The qualifications required for registration as a registered Strata Manager or registered Community Manager are three units of competency from the Certificate III Property Services (Operations).
